in 2011, when i had turned 7 years old, i was really, really into pokemon. like, unhealthily. i was obsessed with the pokemon anime that aired on cartoon network. i played some really low quality online pokemon games, specifically that one online trading card game with a professor that sounded like a robot. so for my 7th birthday, my parents got me a pink dsi, and a cartridge of pokemon pearl. probably just because it was cheaper... i kept playing the unerased finished save file for MONTHS, until i finally learned how to delete data, and started my own adventure. the rival and i got beat up by starly and had to steal pokemon to save our pathetic butts. i saw chimchar and immediately fell in love. it was cute, it was a fire type, it was just a little baby! what's not to love? unfortunately i never beat the elite four with an infernape from back then because younger me loved, and i mean loved to erase the data and start a new adventure, usually right when i beat maylene. whatever. infernape is my favorite pokemon to this day because of all those adventures. so when a friend of mine reminded me, oh hey, this game existed in 2012, and got rebooted, i joined, and picked chimchar immediately. and here we are today!
