Jingles was what happened when I realized that picking Cyndaquil meant I was lacking a Grass-type, which can be especially useful early on with all the Geodude and what have you. I didn't even realize that Bellsprout could be caught on Route 31, actually. As soon as I saw him it seemed like the perfect opportunity to befriend a Pokémon that I unfortunately had never bothered with in the past. The lesson is to never judge a book by its cover. Or in this case, a Bellsprout. He's kind of full of himself, but trying to keep his ego alive gives him some motivation to improve his skills. Jingles and Blaize were also the ones who helped me think of my current team plan. With the exception of one Pokémon that you'll meet later, I caught six Pokémon prior to even battling the first Gym leader. And will keep them. All of them. The whole time.
