Your Guide to 90%+ Breeding Pairs

1.) Pokemon must come from two different Original Trainers and be traded to you by those trainers.

• *Pokemon adopted from the Shelter have been 'released' and their OT resets. When you adopt it from the Shelter, YOU become the new OT.
• *YOU do not count as an OT when this method is used. If you Trade the pokemon to someone else and get it back, the OT has not changed and you do not gain the 20% bonus.

2.) Each traded pokemon from a seperate person gives you a 20% boost to the breeding percentage. You only get this boost once. More trades do not mean more bonuses.

• Ex: Shazi and I both get X pokemon for person A and trade them to person A. Person A now has two pokemon from differnt OTs with the 20% bonus. Neither pokemon was originally Person A's and therefore will potentially give a 90%+ pair.

3.) They should, ideally, be from different lines (as in different breeders, for the OT). Getting them from two different OTs usually achieves this. Pokemon hatched from eggs adopted from the Lab seem to be extremely good for making pairs. Lab pokemon do not give a breeding bonus. This was tested and debunked. Remember that once a pokemon pair has 'seen' each other (and by that I mean they have been put in the Daycare with each other) their percentage will NOT change if they are Traded and see each other again. The percentage is locked. You will need to start over.

Wonder trading works almost exactly like a normal trade, the first person who traded the pokemon, whether that be a regular trade or a wonder trade, is locked in as the OT. The exception to this are pokemon wonder traded before February 1st 2016. These will not have an OT locked in place, due to changes made to wonder trading along with the side revamp that happened during this time. The old wonder trading system renders the pokemon not compatible with the current breeding system. An easy way to see at a glance if your pokemon is wondertraded at the right time is to check the timeline. As you can see with this Cottonee I have there are 3 wonder trades that do not list any trainers. Because this entry is a trade, but does not have the listings for who the trade was to or from the system does not recognise who the OT is and will not grant the 20% boost.

Monogender (male or female only species) Pokemon work a little differently. Some had a matching counter species (Miltank and Tauros, Vullaby and Rufflet) while others don't (Jynx, Tsareena etc) but ultimately the best way to breed them is to pair them with a pokemon of similar typing, body shape and egg group. Please note that monogender fakemon such as Caprikid and Valkind will make 99% pairs with matching egg group fakemon due to the nature of how they are put into the system. For pokemon that change body shape during evolution this can have an effect on which pokemon they breed better with so if you are unsure, check the body shapes of the pokemon you are trying to pair together. The more similar in body shape and size they are the better they pair. Genderless pokemon on the other hand are ones without any gender, like magnemite or golett. A genderless pokemon will have this symbol in place of the male or female symbol. These pokemon can only be bred with a ditto. As for their max pair % many of them will not reach 90% so below we have collected information which should be their known highest pairings. Unown breeding Unown breeding is it's own beast, we reccomend getting two of the same letter that can make a maximum of 60% compatibility. Level plays a pretty large role in breeding, several examples below will show exactly what we mean by this First a level 100 pair with a 99% base compatibility, full happiness. As you can see, they will breed quite well. Next a a pair that has not a large gap, but a gap all the same. As you can see, this gap causes a drop in their final production rate. -7% isn't a whole lot so this shouldn't be too much of an issue. Here is a pair that will highlight exactly why level is so crucial to egg production. A level 1 and a level 100 pokemon. As you can see, the gap is so large, they will not make an egg. This is in conjunction with the scatterbug being level 1 and giving a further minus due to it's low level. and finally, from my testing it appears that the "low level" debuff will use whichever pokemon is the lowest level, and appears to be the amount of levels below 50 the pokemon is. So please, if you take anything from this, take that you need to level your pairs up to maximise their egg production!
